Waiting for your gate to open up for 40 minutes, or watching rampers walk around doing everything except marshall you in doesn't cost them a thing (except tens of thousands of gallons of jet fuel annually and extra pay for crew members). All the contracts they sign and expanding it to numerous airports and more gates is what they're concerned about, and it's clearly what makes them profitable.*
