Default Endeavor Pilots - Focus on SAFETY!

Despite the bad news and blows that keep on coming from management, safety should be your number one priority. Don't forget the little things that can be overlooked during times like now where there are lots of distractions.

I would HATE to see somebody get ramped checked by the FAA and for them to find some miniscule item that ruins your career.

Just some food for thought, common stuff I see that gets overlooked ALL the time are:

1. The stick column having a slight wiggle in it, you can hear a clicking noise. Yes, it's an all day repair, but sooo many of them have this issue. Don't overlook it.

2. Paint chips on rivots that need to be inspected for a "smoked rivot" condition.

3. Small bubbles around the far edges of the windshield.

4. Each light in the cockpit has 2-4 bulbs. EVERY single one of the tiny bulbs needs to work. What if 1 goes out and that's your only working bulb.

5. The black gripped surface on the overwing for the emergency exit path can become faded and not intact.

6. Irregular wear on the tires.

7. Excessive vibration from nose wheel after liftoff...yep we've all seen this before.

8. In the aft equipment bay, oil dripping from the packs, or any oil anywhere found should be reported immediately to find the leak. Even one drop of oil could lead to an inflight fire. Very dangerous.

9. Excessive bugs on leading edges of wings. The maintenance manual says there is a bug limit, get it inspected.

10. Shocks less than limits.

What else is there to help focus on safety? What are somethings that you see on a regular basis that may be overlooked during a time of distraction?
