Flew with a ground/sim instructor in the past couple of days. He said the current plan(as of the last couple of days) was to hire 20 per month. I looked at him in amazement thinking we have to hire 30-35 per month to keep up. He just looked at me and rolled his eyes and said he has no idea how they plan on staffing that many planes with that few new hires a month. Also, check airman in the jump-seat said 5 check airman are leaving in July alone. They were both unsure how the current plan was going to keep up with the need for pilots. TSH better figure it out.
