As I said in a statement earlier, it has been a tough couple of years for the school. That accident was awful. It was a fatal decision by the pilot, and left a real sour taste in the mouths of everyone involved with Advanced. Talking with some of the instructors, they told me that when they attended the Robinson school in California, it's the first accident they discuss. When you hear about the weather conditions that day, you can't comprehend why he made the decision to continue the flight, and continue following the cars and highway lights.
It is awful that these accidents have occurred, and very unfair to such a stand up owner. Don't let these accidents paint a bad picture of Advanced. It is truly a great company. From the Owner to the Maintenance staff, it is fantastic quality with an amazing family atmosphere.
