Nothing management does is done in a vacuum. That missive had to be approved by higher ups and company lawyers. I just can't think for the life of me what any of them thought it would accomplish. I can't imagine there are any fence sitters left to try to influence to come on over the their side. The whole thing is just weird and drives a deeper wedge between the pilots and those who negotiate against the pilots. One things for certain, the HK guys need to be very careful, the new chief pilot isn't shy about letting everyone know where his loyalties lie.
Couldn't agree more, JP's missive must have been approved at a much higher level to be posted on PFC. As with most communications and policy decisions from the company, this will only solidify our resolve, especially in the wake of record earnings almost every quarter combined with falling fuel prices.
