They weren't like that when we had them.
As for not operating them like xjt, the only thing I can think of if those Mels is for the center tank and the thrust reverses. Or that the w&b program isn't as sophisticated, or not using ETO, etc. I don't know. I'm not saying that is the case but other than that and maybe a couple of other things, I don't know what else would be different.
