Once hired, training is very similar to U.S.121 Carriers...Initial training is about 2-3 months long...The only difference is that there is no formal oral exam during the check ride...Then you have line training and your signed off...A350 is new so naturally it will go to very senior people in any seat...

A typical successful career at Qatar Airways can take you very far in the company but most people will become normal line Captains and those that don't pass the upgrade interview will remain First Officers forever on any equipment...The pay is the same on all fleets...Seniority has a different meaning here but the concept is similar to seniority at any airline...They also heavily evaluate training records when making decisions regarding fleet transfer or upgrades...if you get marginal grades on Evals and are even senior, you still may not get the equipment of your choice...if you have solid grades and are senior then you may get whatever you desire as long as there are openings in the desired equipment...Seniority does not determine everything in the end...Hope this helps,
