Well my office job is an IT support role so that's probably going to be a lot different than sales. I had to get a super easy certification to get my foot in the door at the hell desk (known to users as the helpdesk) and just worked my way up from there. Lots of IT shops don't require degrees but work experience is really valued. I've always been good at troubleshooting computers so it made sense to me but it would probably be a brutal existence to people that don't care how their computers or logic works.
