Anybody can fly this plane and anybody can fly this plane well after gaining time and experience. For 12 plus hour flights 4 pilots are needed. Add that fact the aircraft periodically needs an autoland it makes for 5 pilots then.
As a long haul pilot you're lucky to get two landings a month if you're proactive. The max bank angle for crosswind landing is only six degrees. Therefore it is a handful when winds are blowing like they did in LAX. The plane is waiting for an engine change in ONT.
That looks like a hard landing combined with maybe a poor crosswind technique. Not faulting the crew because I wasn't there.
