By releasing that brake, yes you start to get paid. But you also give that on time to the company when it should not have happened. They can continue to drive down turn times and be supported by the pilots because we keep doing it. When they cite the infinitesimally small number of delays casued by late pilots, they neglect the large number of delays prevented by releasing the brake early.


Anyway, that's my .02 for wahtever its worth.
I flew with a captain last week who brandished the Blue gloves and proceeded to work up a sweat cleaning the plane in front of 188 pax. He was complaining about the check-in policy but still had a shot of Bluejuice before becoming part of the vacuum crew.
