We could have had an amended contract before the current contract became amendable, but that's beside the point. We would like a new contract, The Company is content with the current one. Why should The Company make any effort to change?

One reason, and one reason only.

Appearances.

And then, only to stockholders and customers. If The Company can appear to its customers and stockholders to be negotiating in good faith and close to keeping the pilots happy, it's good for business. In fact PAYING pilots more is NOT good for business (from their limited, erroneous perspective).

So, UPS guys - - if you believe that garbage, you've just fallen for the propoganda that was aimed at the customers and stockholders of our company, and you have VERY good reason NOT to - - you're in the same situation where we find ourselves. Don't worry, we're not gonna beat you up for making such a silly mistake - - we may find ourselves doing the very same embarassing thing somewhere down the road. Let's just pick ourselves up, dust off the humiliation, and press on.

When will we get a contract? When The Company gets the message that we're tired of waiting.

Personally, I think

TWO YEARS IS TOO LONG!
