Congrats and welcome aboard! For what it's worth I've been on short call reserve for 6+months and 70% of the time they call me, they have given me well over 3 hours notice. That said, living in SAN you wouldn't be able to make a 2 hour callout. The parking/airport process takes an hour.
Be sure to update us on the indoc class size!
I have my little airplane so in real emergency I can fly to hhr and then get a ride, but it will suck because I will spend more money then what I make.... anyway hopefully will never be less then 3 hrs...
