So is the answer to change the method so 1XXXers commute for the first year? No matter what method is chosen, someone is at the bottom. A proper solution is one where new hires aren't trapped in their base through the AE cycle. Establishing a system where pilots could trade bases on the same equipment is a way of alleviating part of the misery.
