United does a good enough job of accepting those folks themselves, I've seen them on the news and in the jumpseat plenty of times, and that's not even including some of the vile individuals that somehow managed come over from XJT.

No one is saying anything about accepting everyone without question. I'd assume there would be some sort of probationary period that would assist in weeding those folks out. No pilot group, not even the mighty UAL group, is immune from those individuals who need an escort to the door.

At the end of the day, when you subcontract your flying, the folks who the bean counters contract to fly your passengers do represent your operation. Grammy and PeePaw flying from Lake Charles to Amarillo won't have one single mainline United crew take care of them. So, whether these crews "belong" or not is irrelevant, they're still the face of your operation.
