1. Heard they have recently instituted a “pre-indoc” program which lasts about 14 hours, because the new hires have no concept of jet engines, high altitude physiology, and “professionalism”. And the new hires are not paid for this time, but are required to attend. ???
2. Heard they actually do not pay during the travel day and the first 5-6 days of training. Even though the MESA web site says otherwise, and MESA makes new hires “accept” the offer (thus forming the contract), when they arrive the new hires are told their “hire date” is actually about a week off. The reason being told is delays in HR, drug testing, etc. ???
Any truth to this ???
The first day you show up you are drug tested. When your test comes back negative, you are hired and pay starts. For me, I showed on the 9th, I was off on the 10th and pre-indoc/pay started on the 11th. If your drug test has "issues" it might delay your start but you will not start any training until your test comes back clean. I had one person in our class who's test took an extra day. He missed the first day of indoc but the made it up and was back on schedule before systems.
