I too am cheap and looked all over for a cheap rental for my 3 months at training. It's not the rate that kills you it's the
tax. If you rent from anyone at the airport (hertz, alamo, etc) it's something like 40%. I found two places off airport--one was a toyota dealership, but they weren't renting while they reorganized, and Not So Used Rentals (
http://www.notsoused.com/) , and if you rent there the tax is 15% for 30 days or less and 9% if longer. I went with notsoused and it worked out fine.
