Here are some interview questions I looked at in preparing for my interview with FedEx. If you have an answer for most of these questions, you will be able to answer just about any interview question. Good luck!
1. Tell us about yourself—things that aren’t on your resume.
2. Tell us about a time someone junior to you brought up an idea or suggestion that you had not thought of before and used
3. Tell us about a time when your knowledge of ATC procedures/FARs helped you out in a difficult situation. What specific FAR was it?
4. Tell us about a time you had to work with someone you didn’t like. How did you handle it?
5. Tell us about a time you had a disagreement with another crewmember in flight and it was not resolved or resolved after you landed.
6. Tell us about a time when a maintenance person gave you an attitude and how you handled it.
7. Give us an example of when you worked with your crew as a team to solve a difficult problem.
8. Tell us about a time things went well in the cockpit. How was the CRM?
9. Tell us about a time you had to deal with a captain that purposefully broke the rules and how you handled it. Did you tell anyone? Who?
10. Tell us about a time you did a job outside your responsibilities. Were you recognized for your efforts? If yes, how?
11. Tell us about a time you went above and beyond the call of duty.
12. What do you do to correct or alleviate your stress?
13. Tell us about a time when a stressful situation in your life affected you at work?
14. Most stressfull single situation you have been in?
15. How do you handle stress in your family?
16. Tell us about an emergency situation you had that you could have handled better.
17. Tell us the worst EP you had as PIC. Could you have handled it better?
18. Tell us about a procedure or policy you bent or broke. Did you tell your supervisors or fellow pilots?

23. What is required reserve fuel for most distant alternate?
24. Assuming you can’t see the runway marker boards, how do you tell when you have 3000,2000, and 1000 ft remaining? 3k—centerline lighting changes from white to alternating red and white 2k—amber edge lights start?? 1k—centerline lights go from red/white to all red.
25. Tell us about a policy or procedure you thought was unsafe or inefficient. What did you do? Who did you tell? How did you accept their answer?
