FAA Information:

Brief Overview:
AQP emphasizes train to proficiency and allows for redos of certain areas during checking events. It is no longer just a PC (checkride) rather up to 4 separate events. Includes a PV (procedures validation; proves you know how to perform the checklists properly, usually in a FTD, only for initial and upgrade), SV (systems validation; oral or written, carrier specific), MV (maneuvers validation; abnormal and emergency flight procedures not typical during a line flight but you should still know) and a LOE (line operational evaluation; replicated line flight in the sim with one or two minor hiccups you need to deal with; pink slip event).

I’ve gone through traditional training (sub parts N & O) and AQP, both Initial and recurrent, and AQP is easier and more standardized, but I found traditional training to be far more thorough and beneficial, but that is just my opinion.
