New guy here. All this hiring is great but when I see the LCW didnt drop for Sept I think "is that normal in Sept or is that due to the inability to train enough pilots"
I could see us being critically short pilots because those 1000 pilot retirement numbers in a couple of years will hit a little earlier than that because of guys using their sick time and or getting sick before 65. Plus throw in all the training events, it does make a guy wonder what is in store. Beats stagnation though.
Also, the training manager said back in January that they were hiring mid 900's, he was pretty constant all year. It was all the other people chiming in that really didnt know that messed up the predictions. He said back in January they were hiring 40 every 2 weeks with minimal breaks. They have had to up it a little because of no shows. I dont see that ending for a long time.
