Four bars does not make anyone a better stick or better at making decisions it just gives them the ability to make the final call.
I couldn't disagree with you more. The fourth bar doesn't make you better, but it does mean you got through training with higher scrutiny. More importantly, years of PIC experience does makes someone better than they would be without it. I can't believe someone would even debate that.

You're right, it doesn't mean you aren't competent to pass the upgrade, it does mean you will lack the experience that CAs get post-checkride.
