I saw this at a previous airline, but it is rare that the company wants to pay a pilot monthly guarantee to push paper. I think they’d rather have you off payroll and collecting disability. Look how long it has taken to build up the Management pilot staff.
Speaking of management pilots, I saw that the vacancy for ORD BCP has opened again; coincidentally after DF was going through upgrade (as he was awarded the BCP position while an FO). What happened?
I'm sure it's a stipulation from the insurance co. Saves on premiums. Probably makes sense for some employees. Never heard of it being required of a pilot. FAs on the other hand...
