Agreed. Maybe someone can explain what's on a "Before Pushback" checklist that couldn't be combined with the "Before Start" checklist. Do the one checklist, THEN call for push. Works just fine.

If we wait for the FAs to arm the slides and the ramp to close the pits to start briefing the departure etc we’ll be late.
At UAL today the before push is just Fuel Doors Seatbelts. Pretty quick. Everything else is on the first one. Still split cockpit also.
