It helps funnel billions in additional money to already overpriced (because of way too much aid) colleges, who then further raise their prices as a result. I get why people do it, just like I get why some municipal employees scam their pensions by cramming OT in the last year or so then punch out with imputed extras for decades because of it; because they can, obviously.

All of these stupid programs that create more ways to dump money into "education" (really just school, as actual education across the board is a joke by comparison now) only help to increase the prices of it. Just look at all these colleges hiring many times more fake admin jobs for each actual teacher. Or the huge stadiums and rock climbing walls and theatres, 8 figure coaches, etc. They literally can't spend the money fast enough because they know that no matter how much they charge, it will be paid pretty much without question.

It effects us because so many aprents slave away dumping 6 figures per child into the scam, very often for 100% useless degrees in nothing, simply to provide an "experience" for them. That in turn makes us more financially vulnerable which only works against us in the long run.

For parents its a catch 22 and has been for some time. Now health care is more costly for everyone because they force up to 26 year old "children" to be covered which is a cost we all carry and much of that goes to further artificially subsidize the college scam.

It will soon be "free" of course, so we have nothing to worry about.
