We're short staffed AF at Xjet but my extensions and rolled days in the last few months were all for either weather or maintenance.
The language does say footprint, but then example 2 right after that language states...

“Example 2: A Pilot is scheduled to fly a 2-day trip, and on
Day 2 the Pilot was scheduled for 3 hours of Pay Credit and have a Sequence Release Time of 1600. The Pilot is Reassigned to fly a leg worth 4 hours with a Scheduled Release Time of 2000. The Pilot would receive 6 hours of Pay Credit for that leg (4 hours at 150%). If the Pilot actually returns at 0300 on his Day Off, then the Pilot would no longer receive 150% credit for the 4-hour leg but would receive 4 hours of Pay Credit for that leg plus an additional 5 hours of Pay in accordance with Paragraph R., below.”
