As a former Jumpseat Coordinator for a 121 cargo carrier with B727 and B737 aircraft that had jumpseats outside the bulletproof cockpit door, I wrote one of the most liberal jumpseat policies in the post-911 CASS world and regularly welcomed any Part 135 pilot that had a Medical, a Commercial License, and and ID.

Unfortunately, we sank during the 2008 depression: It’s a recession if your neighbor gets laid off, but a depression when you do. I dream of a day where 135 pilots are welcomed on jumpseats, but I’m not holding my breath.
