I spent about 2 years looking at jobs outside the industry and I discovered.
1) I don't want to collect the debt of law school
2) I don't want to spend the time in school getting my Phd
3) I don't have the dick for porn
4) I don't have the abs for dancing
5) flying companies keep giving me interviews
I gave in and went to a flight department for a Fortune 500. People are nice and the pay is great and the schedule okay so I can continue my own real estate investing business on the side.

Additionally, I think people really underestimate the effect debt (especially student loans) has on your decisions and options. Doing things as debt free as possible is a huge plus wherever you can. All of my flying and flight training has been pay as you go to avoid loans. Life is stressful enough without a bunch of payments.
