All depends, get a job with a big city law firm, they will pay well but expect late nights and lots of billable hours. High stress environment to be sure. On the other hand, you can take the route I chose and start your own practice. You can make a nice living as your own boss while working less then 40 hours a week.

Also, I think it's worth mentioning that a law degree can open the door to many different employment opportunities in government and the private sector, many of which have nothing to do with the courtroom or litigation. My friend works for a securities company as their legal counsel and makes a ton of money working 9-5.
