I know certain majors were "informally" considering the attendance patterns of mil applicants coming from the regionals. Not legal, but I was "counseled" about that by my bros in the know. It's a moving target, I think there was a lawsuit or two, maybe the mole got whacked but it can (and probably will) pop up again.
A few months is probably no big deal in the grand scheme, but if it's recent, or as a new-hire, it's not going to look great. They'll assume you'll drop orders on them too...
If your geography and unit allows, might be better to drill on your days off to supplement things, or drop a week here, week there. Majors won't notice that as much as a big hole in your logbook + DD214.
I prioritized mil over airlines for many years, but that was a different era, and I held on tight to the bird in hand. Today, I would aggressively pursue legacy/big-six airline employment... huge long-term potential payoff.
