I get your point and it’s clear that the regional with the highest upgrade times is XJT and it’s almost twice as long as the second highest regional which I believe is Republic at 2.5 to 3 years. If you want to come here and upgrade at 1000 sic that’s a mistake. The only thing that will bring that time down was shrinking the company from 3k to 1200 in the last 4 years by attrition and bringing Kalitta and CPP things to wipe the senior groups away. So simple math with roughly 800 CA and 400 FO’s if you hire a realistic 600-800 ppl in two years every FO currently on property should upgrade and that’s what makes XJT potentially a good pick compared to other places. Not recruiter talk just basic math.
QOL is great for me as a FO lineholder. Line-holders here should have nothing to complain about with ILIW, unless you don’t know how to use a computer. Of course Reserve is horrible like every other regional. Pay could come up and upgrades should come down but remember you are at a damn regional do your time and get out.
What’s also simple is to see that the top 700 may never leave. With very slow movement in this area, all the company will do is cycle through FOs. Currently, everyone on the list from #800 and senior has either had unsuccessfully completed the hogan, opted out, unsuccessfully interviewed at United (CPP) or has not been offered a hogan (ex ASA CRJ).
Your math assumes normal attrition. XJT combined with the old ASA group makes for a very stagnant list. Honest question - how long have you been with the company and is this the only regional airline you’ve worked for?
