The reality is that there are LOTS of areas where the ‘state of the art’ has vastly exceeded the level of experience and professional expertise if the regulators. Look how many years VW snuck by the air quality people with their Dieselgate scandal before it was eventually discovered.

For that matter, do you know FOR SURE what that guy or gal did to your three shot skinny soy latte before it got handed to you at the Starbucks drive through window?

Nobody is truly in control of their own fate. Increased regulation eventually reaches a point where the cost exceeds the benefit. In many areas it already has. Sometimes being fatalistic is actually the best policy.
