The reason the Union set up that website is to educate new hires about the real issues at Expressjet. You can hope that the future looks bright, but the past actions of the Company strongly outweigh your optimism.
Some of us sat as FOs for 7+ years while we saw flying go to every other carrier but us. (L-ASA & L-XJT) Please excuse the lack of excitement for 30+ aircraft and a single new hire FO shooting rainbows and unicorns out their *** saying everything is all fixed.
Well the reason I am getting into the industry now is because I was aware of the hardships a regional pilot faced at the time I was entering the labor force. I looked at my prospects at the time as an airline pilot and decided it was best to go another direction.
Now things have changed for the better and I have chosen to follow my dreams. So forgive me if I’m not very sympathetic to those who choose to ignore the light at the end of the tunnel because of darker days in the past.
It sucks that you went through those challenges, but that doesn’t mean change is not on the horizon. You see things differently than I do, and for good reason. But don’t ask me why I see things the way I do then persecute me for answering honestly.
