It really depends on where each person wants to end up. Assuming that the vast majority of each class desire to be in a domicile other than NYC, picking one aircraft over another could make that happen much sooner. If you want SLC, then the A220 makes perfect sense, whereas if you want DTW the 717 is probably your best bet to get there the fastest.
