That was quite a long time ago, so probably not relevant. Also they correctly identified a military ship during a hot war, they just didn't identify the nationality correctly.

Also a different era. That one was intentional and for apparently good reason. It had grossly violated their airspace, and repeatedly refused to comply with the intercept instructions. The US would do the same thing today, only much faster.
