All Commutes are not created equal. Some are much easier than others. For example, a couple of NJ folks that went to Fedex commute to MEM from MCO. Fedex has morning and night flights to MEM, you can commute in for your trip nearly 100% of the time. VERY EASY and stress free.
Now if you live in Des Moines and commute to SFO, well, that is a different story.
NJA pilots commute. Literally just walked by an NJA CA in the terminal in AUS waiting to board with his group 6 boarding pass. He and an airline commuter were posted against the wall, waiting to board last. Granted the quality of an airline flight can vary greatly for NJA pilots but I would absolutely argue that there are plenty of airline pilots with easier commutes to work than what a lot of NJA pilots have to endure. 3 legs and 12 hours of travel in a middle seat isn’t cooler just because NJA buys you a ticket.
