And congrats on getting the in-house CTP, it will introduce you to most of your classmates early on and give you 12 hours in the E170 while everyone else is getting six hours in a Boeing or Airbus sim. The CTP isn't anything to worry about, I thought it was a nice introduction to the airline way of doing things. Just follow the Sheppard Air program and the written will be a breeze.

Regarding the blog, I think it's a good idea and could be very helpful for those behind you. Most of the first two weeks is operational and regulatory so it will be relatively dry but it picks up after that. I don't think it would be difficult to carve out some writing time every day, especially if it also serves to reinforce what you've learned.
