Most cases, yes, agreed. I had it happen multiple times at the regionals where a mainline pilot (or 2) could hold seats in the back, but took the JS’s to let mainline FA’s junior to them get their seats.

But even then, circumstantial. And I’ve done JS committee in the past.

ALL we have is the info the OP provided.

Let’s say it’s me and my passrider GF (different last name) trying to get home, and ONE seat open. Sorry, I’m taking the JS and she’s taking the open seat if that’s the way the non-rev cookie is crumbling.
