If those pilots have similar concerns/issues as our OP then they should by ALL MEANS be taking time off as well. IMSAFE and all that. Ever flown with someone who is constantly fighting with their significant other all week or who has spent their time off sleeping in the garage/basement/car? Not pleasant or at all conducive to a safe working environment. If you can get a PLOA or KLOA, do it. If not, call in sick. If your honor won't let you sleep at night, call the CPO and have them PD your trip without pay. I'm sure they would be happy to do it. But why anyone would risk their health (threat real or perceived), marital strife or spending weeks on end sleeping in the basement/garage just to fulfill some false sense of honor is beyond me.

That's not what I was advocating and you know it. If you need to be told how to be a responsible adult, then what can I tell you.
Also, it's spelled "litter".
