Consider military aviation. The Air National Guard is one of the best kept secrets out there. A guard bum here can expand on this, but the training is free, you get paid well, you get to fly really cool airplanes, the bennies are solid. After doing an initial stint full time and racking up flight time, you can go part time guard, knock out your ATP real quick (as a military aviator you’ll get your commercial and instrument ratings via some easy paperwork), and then get an airline job.

That way, when the next C19 hits, you have that guard gig to fall back on.

It isn’t for everyone, but it is SUCH a sweet deal. Look into it.
