Since no one here seems to be an FO, let me tell you how much one makes. Filing single on taxes with TX as my state of residence I bring home $1070 Every 2 weeks. So imagine being on short call reserve living off of $2140 a month. That’s with no medical insurance.
And to think people are actually advocating that you work for less! I mean that is absolutely asinine. Furloughs suck and it's a terrible time in the industry for almost everyone. But pilots have a lot more skills than they give themselves credit for. The hyperbole that you'll somehow have to be working for minimum wage at McDonald's is ridiculous.
