I’m sure there are other times when runway conditions, DA or weather limit the actual Takeoff weight but not an actual weight and BALANCE issue. At Skywest they always seem to have a balance issue. It’s almost like they are too lazy to collect more bags to put in the back.
it is a balance/MLW issue. With 50 pax and an alternate dispatch usually planned us to land around 46.7k. If I am remembering right A normal ballast number with 50pax and an ACM was 1800-2000lbs in the cargo compartment which usually translated to 600 lbs of ballast. Sometimes that just didn’t work with MLW.
Only had to say no a few times, although one time it was to an LCA doing a line check. Never left anyone behind if we didn’t have an alternate
