Union
The Company has done a super job of keeping the Union in check , that’s the first thing that must be acknowledged,
Union leadership has always been and will forever be suspect of ill representation and gross mismanagement. But it’s a job not many have the desire to do .
Flip side of this is that you need representation or the Company will skewer you to their favorite style of home cookin.
I was there years ago to see the pilot group organize , it was sorely needed after the Flying Tiger buyout , of which those being bought out ended up with a very sweet deal ........ because they were organized and had protections of a CBA , the other side did not , tough lessons learned . You need to be protected by a CBA , period . But don’t let yourselves or your elected leaders sell out , just to get it over with . I’m not around for the next goat rope but rest assured the same trickery and false promises will be bandied about , at your expense . Get involved , stay engaged , take whatever steps are necessary to get what you deserve , if things don’t look right , don’t feel right , jump in there and make all the noise required to effect attention . It’s your Union and your Career . Good luck to all of you !
