Check your ego at the door of the nearest Honda/Toyota dealership and get a mini van. The driver controlled sliding doors reduce the stress level by a factor of 10 when loading and unloading kids. If you go the jumbo SUV route, be sure the test drive includes parking at one or two of your (or your wife's) favorite stores. Costco doesn't count, because they have smart site planners.

Congratulations! I came from a 2003 Chevy Suburban and traded her in for a Honda when the youngest was born. Best decision I ever made. Go out and buy a 2022 Honda Odyssey and never look back. I’ve returned to a cool vehicle but still miss that thing, a great resale value also!
