Let them be excited and go to Commutair. Won't be too long till they're putting their apps in to Skywest and be back at the bottom of the list when Commutair closes the doors. A serious regional downturn is coming and Skywest has proven that they can weather the storm a lot better than the other small regionals. To those that are researching where to go to start their airline career, a financially stable company is very important and that's one thing that Skywest is good at.
you are right a regional downturn is coming. What you aren’t so correct about is that somehow Skywest is immune. With shrinkage staring them directly in the face, a loss for 2022 and an inability to staff the airline as people go elsewhere, the downturn you speak of will hit here also. It will take longer to get hours and move on. Would be better to be at Commutair and get the time and flow on to United. Skywest left it too late to play catch up. The downturn is here. Losing money is not financially stable. It’s a recipe for disaster ahead.
