Makes me wonder. I've taken pictures of lots of people in the terminal during the holiday that I showed to my kids to explain why I had to work over Christmas. Showed them pictures of peeps in Christmas sweaters and holiday garb and big effin smiles(most taken without asking consent and surreptitiously) I certainly won't do that again.
I'm curious if the hew and cry to fire would be the same if it was a female pilot taking a picture of a male flight attendant? If not, why not?
What if it was just a normal pax taking the photo....would they be placed on the DO NOT FLY LIST and banned for life? If not, why not?
I’m not sure this hypothetical whatabout-ism is relevant. This situation isn’t about sexism, it’s about responding to and preventing sexual harassment, regardless of who the perpetrator and victim are.
If what we’ve seen is what it appears to be, I don’t think it unreasonable that a company would fire someone who acts in this way. This type of behavior is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Just imagine future crew dynamics with female FOs/FAs being extra on guard once they find out they’re assigned with this guy.
