Okay by now im sure everyone has heard the AA WO pay update. $90/hr first year, CKA pay goes up to $400+. Any thoughts on what this means for us? Will it stay the same and we focus on E3 hiring? Or will we get a new contract once classes start to shrink again?
They’ll be a new CBA about 10 years from now. Till then unless the company gets within a couple days of bankruptcy J.D. won’t give one more penny for the pilot group. As an example, just before C19 we had numerous aircraft parked for lack of crew, the stock had gone from 75 to 14 and you could count the number of new hires for each class on less than one hand.
Classes are full now and the company is making record profits and tied with UPS for amount of freight moved. Mgt could care less about what’s happening at the regionals.
It will be a fight just to get Atlas to implement Qol improvements from last years arbitration. Nine months later there’s still no electronic trip trade/drop open time and reserve system. Everything that benefits the company gets implemented immediately but anything that benefits the pilots or costs money; becomes a multi year “process”. That’s the future at Atlas Air. Fortunately much more viable options for improved compensation and Qol are appearing at other carriers.
