I can't even imagine what kind of tires you have to have to be able to put up with those speeds. I remember reading about the Veyron tires:

Michelin tests the tires by running them on a dyno at 270mph for twenty seconds, then at 250mph for another twenty seconds. They are able to repeat this cycle twice before the tires fail explosively.

If limited to 250, Michelin says the tires will run in a straight line for fifteen minutes. Any turning significantly shortens their life and, at that speed, they would run out of gas long before then.

As of now, tires are the limiting factor on what speeds can be achieved. Vehicles that set land speed records don't use pneumatic tires.
