Having lived in east LA (aka Phoenix) for 7+ years, we traveled extensively from PHX - SAN - Ventura - Huntington Beach ... avoided times anywhere near rush hour, but know what it is like.
Still miss those places, traffic and all !
SDF at rush hour resembles your 2300 - 2330 trip to the grocery for milk and bread and BEER !
