Of the previous management at USAir, it was often said that immediate planning was where they were going to have lunch. Strategic planning was where they would have lunch the next day. Or in more harsh terms, the management groups of Colodny, Schofield, Wolf and others were so bad it was said 'they couldn't get laid in a women's prison while holding a fist full of pardons.'

Colodny was clearly out of his element when he merged 3 starkly different cultures. Within a short time his marketing wizard, Randy Malin, had destroyed the PSA market abandoning most of the old PSA cities and had created so many delays by screwing up the Florida Shuttle that it became a money loser.

Schofield won no points with his reconfigurable cabin called "Business Select".

Wolf was one of the most nefarious with his red suspenders and big hands waving as though he were the messiah. Wolf came up with MetroJet, an airline within an airline yet the only ones on reduced compensation were the pilots. Wolf has trashed every airline he ever touched and his sidekick, Gangwal, has proven equally inept on more than one continent and more than one industry.

Then we get to Davy boy... after he left USAir he went to a catering outfit and treated the employees so badly that British Airways terminated the contract, with penalties for early termination, with Davy's company saying it would not do business with companies that blatantly abused its employees.

So, we get to the USAir that was merged into AWA. After years and years of being beat on, the employees seem to be like an old yard dog that is ready to bite just about anything.
