When they use a Mint spare to replace a non-Mint route/flight, they don't cater the aircraft or have any Mint trained FAs onboard. That is the reason they don't seat anyone in the Mint seats on a non-Mint flight.
I can imagine people getting upgraded into the mint seats on a non-catered/non mint FA flight… the *****fest that would ensue. “Omg I’m in “mint” and all they game me were the same chips the normal people in the back got?! Boycott JB!”
