There are currently like 800 more pilots on the list than in 2019, flying the same amount of flying as 2019. After the 4 320 lease returns and 6 190 lease returns, and the parking of 15-20 owned E190s this year and next, the active fleet size won’t really grow in 23. Utilization might go up a little bit. But their “we anticipate hiring 1,000 pilots next year” will likely just be enough to cover attrition. Especially given the size of the current applicant pool. They will probably lose 400 next year to attrition. So I’d guess they will hire around 500-600 or so to marginally grow the list.
